Currently there are eighty-eight (88) Neighborhood Watch Programs organized by the Macon Police Department for citizens within the city limits of Macon , Georgia . There are six (6) Neighborhood Watch Programs under the auspices of the AmeriCorps and eleven (11) programs under the Macon Housing Authority.
During 2005, ten (10) new Neighborhood Watch Programs were organized and Finsbury Drive Neighborhood Watch Program was revitalized. Unsuccessful efforts were made to organize Neighborhood watch Programs for residents of Beech Avenue, Napier Ave. Area, Bartlett Crossing, Business Watch for Houston Ave, Winship Garden Apartments and Hidden Lake Apartment indicated a desire to revitalize their program but they never did. To be considered active a program is required to meet at least quarterly. From January to November 2005, two hundred and twenty- five (225) Neighborhood Watch Program meetings were held and two thousand three hundred and ninety five (2,395) citizens attended those meeting and an average of twenty (20) Neighborhood Watch meetings were held each month.
Operation Identification
During 2005, there was an increase of more than 100% in the number of individual who marked their valuables. There were previously twenty-eight (28) individuals participating in the program. This year thirty-one (31) were added to the total. The Northbrook Ave Neighborhood Watch program earned their Neighborhood Watch sign. They held their Sign Ceremony on November 10 th .
Precinct Associations
During eight months of 2005, twenty-seven (27) Precinct Associations meetings were held and two hundred and fifty-nine (259) citizens attended those meetings. The Precinct Association meetings continues to provide a mechanism for citizens to form a relationship with and get to know the Precinct Commanders and to see the Officers that attend their monthly meetings. When Neighborhood Programs fail to get organized or when they are no longer able to remain active, representatives of those programs are strongly encouraged to attend the Precinct Association meetings.
Macon Neighborhood Association
At the time of this report, The Macon Neighborhood Association has held three (3) quarterly meetings in 2005. One hundred and twenty- nine (129) citizens attended those meetings.
Service Requests
During 2005, two hundred and forty-three (243) service requests were received and responses provided to citizens. The Service Requests are received from citizens during Neighborhood Watch meetings, Customer Service Requests received from the Mayor's Customer Service office, and telephone requests received via the precincts.

National Night Out
The 2005 National Night Out Event was a tremendous success in terms of the number of sites and the different entities that participated. There were ten (10) Major sites with ten Neighborhood Watch Programs participating at those sites. There were ten (10) in neighborhood sites. Seven (7) Neighborhood Watch Programs participated by turning on their lights. There was one (1) Business site. The new attraction for this year was the addition of the Basket ball games with Police Personnel playing against citizens. The best accounting for the number that participated at all of the sites is Three thousand fifty nine (3,059).
Triad S.A.L.T. Council of Macon
The seniors held eleven (11) monthly meetings during 2005 two hundred and ninety (290) seniors attended those meetings. Seventy-three (73) seniors attended the annual Fellowship Luncheon. The Chief and all of the Commanders was their special guest.
The seniors went to St. Augustine Florida for their senior trip. It rained every day, but they had a good time.
