As of 2009 there have been one hundred and five (105) “Traditional” Neighborhood Watch Programs organized by the Macon Police Department for citizens within the city limits of Macon, Georgia of which forty-eight (50) are active and meet at least quarterly, fifteen (15) have call meetings. There are six (6) Neighborhood Watch Programs under the auspices of the AmeriCorp. “Non-traditional” include eleven (11) programs under the Macon Housing Authority, nine (9) E-mail, and two Newsletter Programs.
During 2008 and 2009, eleven (11) new Neighborhood Watch Programs were organized; Winship-Central, Bon Ayers, Colonial Terrace, Village Green and Cherokee Heights Neighborhood Watch Programs were revitalized. Unsuccessful efforts were made to maintain Neighborhood Watch Programs for residents of Edna Place, Richmond Avenue, Morgan School Area, and Brookwood Apartments, Courtland Avenue, Mikado Avenue, Stratford Circle, Wynnwood Drive, College Drive, Shadowood West Apartment, Crystal Lake, and Bob-o-Link. To be considered active a program is required to meet at least quarterly. From January to October 2009, two hundred and four (204) Neighborhood Watch Program meetings were held and one thousand three hundred and one (1301) citizens attended those meetings and an average of twenty- four (24) Neighborhood Watch meetings are held each month.
Operation Identification
There was an increase of Neighborhood Watch Programs who participated in marking their valuables. This year ninety- six (96) individuals were added to the total. Pio Nono Hills, Crosswinds, Lake Arrowhead and Tatnall, has completed the criteria to earn a Neighborhood Watch sign.
Precinct Associations
Currently twenty-seven (25) Precinct Associations meetings were held and two hundred and thirty-two (232) citizens attended those meetings. The Precinct Association meetings continues to provide a mechanism for citizens to form a relationship with and get to know the Precinct Commanders and to see the Officers that attend their monthly meetings. When Neighborhood Programs fail to get organized or when they are no longer able to remain active, representatives of those programs are strongly encouraged to attend the Precinct Association meetings.
Macon Neighborhood Association
The Macon Neighborhood Association holds quarterly meetings at the Older American Council (OAC) Building on Adams Street.
Service Requests
Service Requests are received from citizens during Neighborhood Watch and Precinct Association Meetings, Customer Service Requests received from the Mayor's Customer Service office, and telephone requests received via the precincts.

National Night Out
The National Night Out Event was a tremendous success in terms of the number of sites and the different entities that participated. There were forty (40) Major sites. There were thirty-eight (38) in neighborhood sites. Two (2) Neighborhood Watch Programs participated by turning on their lights. There were two (2) Business site. The new attraction was the addition of a Movie in the Park, shown at Tatnall Square Park featuring “Remember the Titans” and “A Night of Jazz” at the Senior Citizen Center. The best accounting for the number that participated at all of the sites is two thousand and fifteen (2015).
Triad S.A.L.T. Council of Macon
The seniors held eleven (11) monthly meetings and trainings on Fire Prevention, Crime Prevention, the Pandemic and H1N1 Flu, Census, Wise Energy Use, and Volunteering in the Community, three hundred and (371) seniors attended those meetings and trainings. Fifty- Four (54) seniors and their guest attended the annual Fellowship Luncheon held at the Golden Corral Restaurant.
Triad/S.A.L.T. Council sponsored a trip to Memphis Tennessee in April 2009 for their annual senior trip. They had a very good and educational time when visiting the various museums, historical hotels, restaurants, and shops. April 2010 the seniors will travel to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
