A Safety and Security Survey is a visual and physical inspection conducted by a police officer to evaluate your property from a crime prevention and security perspective. Based on the inspection, the officer will make recommendation to you on how you can lessen your chances of becoming a victim of crime by using crime prevention techniques.
Upon making a request for a safety and security survey, a Youth and Intervention Officer from the Macon Police Department will set up a date and time to meet you at your home or business to conduct a security survey assessment.
Some of the items the officer will review and may make recommendation about include:
Door Locks
Window Locks
Exterior Lighting
Bushes or trees that should be trimmed for better visibility
Motion sensing exterior lights
Smoke Detectors
Alarm System
Security of yard tools, bicycles, and other such items kept in sheds or in carports
ARMED ROBBERY PREVENTION:
