Grants Manager

The Grants Manager is under the supervision of the Director of Police Operations. The Grants Manager coordinates grants for the Macon Police Department. Responsibilities include working with police personnel and outside City agencies to identify appropriate needs to be addressed through the grants process. Duties include grant writing and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and all accounting functions associated with individual grants within the Police Department.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Writes grant applications to secure funding to support on-going police department operations and new programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinates the grants functions within the Police Department.
    Responsible for development of new programs to include program descriptions and policy guidelines.
  • Responsible for all accounting functions for individual grants within the Police Department.
  • Responsible for the preparation of an annual report detailing the expenditure of federal dollars.
  • Keeps abreast of current government programs, as well as applicable Federal government regulations, published articles and related reports.
