OVERVIEW
|
The Crime Analysis Unit for the Macon Police Department utilizes crime data generated from the various reports created by officers in the field and entered into the computer systems by Central Records to engage in Statistical and Tactical Crime Analysis.
The Unit provides Macon Police Department Administration with statistical crime data via monthly City Wide, Community, Zone, and Arrest reports. The Unit also hast the ability to create crime maps that can be displayed city wide or broken down by precincts and zones.
The unit prepares statistical data for reporting to the State of Georgia and the Federal Bureau of Investigation via the Uniform Crime Report (UCR).
The Crime Analysis Unit also provides the precincts and commanders with specific crime information and data to assist them in making tactical decisions and manpower allocation decisions. This unit works to help identify crime trends and crime hot spot locations throughout the city.
