VIOLENT CRIMES UNIT
The Violent Crimes Unit is responsible for investigating crimes that are committed directly against the individual, such as armed robbery, rape, homicide, etc. This section is now divided into two basic areas, which are juvenile-related crimes and adult or general persons crimes.
There are currently nine detectives assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit Section. They rotate between the day and evening shifts and share the on-call responsibility, which makes them always available to investigate any serious and violent incident. This section investigates aggravated assaults, homicides, armed robberies, strong-armed robberies, and rapes. These are high profile crimes that draw media attention, and the detectives and supervisors assigned to this section have been equal to the task. There have been many occasions when the detectives working this section have worked around the clock to solve a crime. |
