SPECIALIZED UNITS

ATF SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD GUN INITIATIVE

One (1) Sergeant is assigned to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as part of Project Safe Neighborhood. This project is designed to target and arrest violent offenders who possess or have possessed weapons. Its goal is to assist in removing weapons from the criminals and prosecute the cases in federal court whenever possible.

FUGITIVE TASK FORCE

One (1) officer is assigned to the U.S. Marshall's office as a member of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. This task force consists of officer from surrounding Middle Georgia law enforcement agencies. The officers provide help in locating wanted persons and assists in serving warrants where suspects have fled the area. This officer is able to use the resources of teh U.S. Marshall's Office to assist other units with information and intelligence.
