The Macon Police Department Narcotics Unit consists of one (1) Lieutenant, two (2) Sergeants, and five (5) investigators. Its mission is to provide the most competent and resourceful investigation of illegal sale and distribution of controlled substances and other vice associated criminal activity in the City of Macon. The Narcotics Unit employ the greatest obtainable resources available to rid the community of illicit drugs, including but not limited to cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, and other illegal drugs that have a potentially detrimental effect on all people of this municipality. The unit recognizes, addresses and eliminates illegal drug sales on the streets of the city. They generate an optimistic perception of the Narcotics Unit activities in the neighborhoods of Macon through practical enforcement methods in areas where criminal activity has been recognized and reported.
