The Macon Animal Control Division has a responsibility to assure that pets and people live together in safety and harmony - and that ALL pets receive proper care, including veterinarian care and housing. As part of the City of Macon, Animal Control Officers are handling many routine as well as emergency situations with our local pets. Animal Control is responsible for rabies control, capture of sick or injured animals, confinement of lost pets, quarantines, dog bites, and adoptions. We also maintain the Animal Control Shelter, animal licensing, and respond to complaints as well as enforcement of animal ordinances within the city limits of Macon.
